Good Morning Japan. Let’s Get Started By Sharing The Idea Behind The James Apron Shoes

Good Monring Japan,

After much brainstorming last night I was wondering what to share with you first. We are a bank full of knowledge. We know men's footwear like the back of our hands and we know great product when we see one. Therefore we thought that we would share with you the idea behind the Walk London James Apron Shoe which hit Global shelves last week.

We love this shoe so much because to put it simply it looks great if you have taste and are inspired by heritage menswear and Real McCoy Lookbook from down the years. Technically a Men's Piped Derby Shoe the idea came about through a love of French label Paraboot, in particular the iconic Micheal military shoe that that been passed down through tradition for over 100 years. We saw the shilouette once again through the brands collaboration with contemporary brand YMC and thought to ourselves, how can we improve this shoe? The answer came to us over a pint. Let's recraft the shilouette using our own signature touches, highest quality shoemakers available to us and perhaps most importantly how do we make this shoe affordable for everyone. The answer was simple and the design fell into place after that

Looking at what was working for us within our seasonal boot collections the leathers and camouflage patterned cleared rubber sole of the James Apron Boot stood out to our designers as having all of the quality's to be able to portray the design in a modern way whilst still having that all important heritage appeal as they will age beautifully with a unique patina, differnet to each wearer.

With these two key elements, laces selected and signature sock installed, samples came back and we said to ourselves ... Wow these look great. Now it was time to make adjustments and fit. After a few tweaks to the last and a couple of samples later we managed to get everything spot on in terms of we were all happy all the elements of the shoe. They worked in conjunction with each other and we would walk about London in them in comfort and - in our opinion - style.

A decision on pricing quickly came about, £105 GBP. Much cheaper than a Paraboot Michael and really good value for the quality that you get from a Made In Portugal Shoe in general. Barcodes added, black tissue paper to protect and a Walk London trunk box on the outside, with orders places exclusively for our own website stock arrived. A photoshoot later (I have attached a couple of images below) to show one of the many ways in which this shoe can be worn the James Apron had landed. A week later and I am here writing this note happy with the work we have donee.

I hope that you have enjoyed reading what will be the first of many open letters to you Japan.

Have a great day and I hope to visit you with our James Apron Shoe soon,

Have a great day

David and the Rest of the Walk London Team.
