Tobuとは
Tobuとは本名Toms Burkovskis、ラトビア出身の現在27歳のDJで、ジャンルはハウス。11歳から作曲を始め、主にNCS（NoCopyrightSound）レーベルにて楽曲を提供している。軽快かつ美麗なサウンドが特徴的だ。Tobuという名前は本名から取られているのかもしれない。過去にはAlanWalkerの「Tired」をスウェーデン出身でNext Aviciiとの呼び声が高いSteernerとコラボRemixをリリースしていて、他のDJたちとの交流も多い。

この曲は2018年5月18日にリリースされた曲で、それまでのTobuの曲達とは少し違うものになってきている。 落ち着いた基調に語りかけるような声が組み合わさり、優しい曲だ。しかしそれまでのTobuはHouse系のサウンドをメインで使っていたが、この曲ではTrapとFuture Bassの組み合わせという、今までとは違うサウンドを使っていて新しい。そしてその組み合わせによってこの神々しいようなメロディーが生まれているのだ。Cruelとは「残酷な」という意味で、歌詞では恋人とのすれ違いへの強い葛藤が歌われている。
