Although/though/in spite of/despite
I review my learning words today.
Although
Although + subject + verb
Usages
- Although I was sick, I went to work yesterday.
- I'm happy although I have little money.
- Although it rained, we climbed the mountain.
In spite of / despite
in spite of / despite + noun / pronoun / -ing
Usages
- In spite of living the big house, we use it only two rooms.
- Despite having angry for him, I went to the his party.
- I went to work in spite of being sick.
Though
It's used in spoken English at end of the sentences.
Usages
- I didn't like swimming. I swam,though.
- I couldn't sleep. I was really tired,though.
Conclusion
These are same meaning. However if you use "in spite of / despite", you would seem to be smart.

Could has a lot of meaning.
I'm confused how to use "could" sometimes.
Less sure than can
- You could give her a present.
- We could go to the movie.
Unrealistic
- This is really good place. I could stay forever.
- I'm exhausted. I could sleep for 3 days.
Similar to might and may
- Maybe I could stay there.
- I could apply for it.
- We could go to the movie.
It was possible but didn't happen
- Why did you stay home yesterday? You could have come to the party last night.
- Why did you ask me that? I could have given my ticket.
- Why did you walk? You could have taken a taxi.
Something would not be possible
- Couldn't be better.
- I couldn't live there. I don't like a small city.
- I couldn't get up at that time.
- They couldn't have been helpful.

Even
It is used to say that something is unusual or surprising.
Usage
- I always wear a jacket, even during summer.
- I write a code, even on the street.
- He always wears a casual shirts, even in formal situations.
Not even
more usual or surprising than even.
Usage
- I don't even know the Antarctic.
- His room is messy, he doesn't even put away his writing desk.
- She can't even cook cup noodles.
Even + comparative
It is used to want to emphasize to the word.
Usage
- I have a 700 score of TOEIC, but she has even higher one.
- She works even harder.
- It was very cold yesterday, but today it's even colder.
Even if
It is used just imagined.
Usage
- I can't run for 100M within 9 SEC even if I'll do best effort.

It is used always done, the fact is mentioned.

状況や行動が続いている状態。

Anymore/no longer
stillとは反対に状況や行動が変わった状態。
- I used to play tennis when I was young, but I don't play it anymore.
- He no longer write a blog.
- She doesn't work here anymore.
Already
すでに終わっている状態。
- I've already finished whole tasks.
- She has already left her house.
- I'm already hungry.
Yet
今はまだ終わってない状態。疑問、否定で使う。
- I haven't decided yet.
- Have you met some residents here yet?
- He hasn't come yet.
What the difference bet ween A and B
A : Still haven't Vpp Vすべきだった(まだVしてない)
B : Haven't Vpp yet まだしてないけどVするだろう(と予想される)

1. 行動や状況を想像するけど実際には起こらない
Usage
- It would be nice to live in a big house.
- I wouldn't like to be a teacher.
- I'd love to live in Tokyo.
- I would like to go with you.
- It would be nice to have a car.
2. すでに起こったことに対して、行動や状況をを想像する
Usage
- I would have liked to meet you.
- I would have eaten out with you.
- It's too bad you couldn't attend the party. You would have enjoyed it.
3. 予想with if
Usage
- I would talk to you if I could speak English well.
- I would call her if I had her number.
- I would attend the conference if I could understand their English.
4. 拒否したこと
Usage
- I tried to warn her, but she wouldn't listen to me.
- My PC wouldn't start.
- I invited to him yesterday's party, but he wouldn't come.

Grammer
