Galeophie Thoughts #1

Either it's my depression or growing up but the feeling of Christmas fades away. Sometimes though, it is still there but you don't notice it at first. It's like a certain switch flipping you into holiday spirits all of a sudden.

Your human senses can pull you into the festive energy: Seeing the lights on the Christmas tree, feeling the warmth of the fireplace, hearing the jingle and mingle of songs, the taste of sweets and holiday feast, and the smell of pine and jolly divine.

For me, a smell can get me into any mood. A mood that can be positive or negative. A nasty smell of not showering in a while makes me feel sluggish, disappointing and awfully sad. The smell of fresh cinnamon, fruity shampoo, sweet vanilla, that smell that fills you with nostalgia...a smell to me affects me greater than any other sense. It's a shame my nose is almost always stuffed.

I wonder if other humans are the same but not just with smell. A certain taste may bring you back to the past. A specific song can change your world. Your senses control you and it's at times unlikeable yet I don't know what I'd do without my sense of smell.
